things you
really should know about
Below are some logistics to keep in mind as you plan your journey to the magicland of crestonia. If you have any questions, use that little handy contact link on the bottom of the page. Pre-sale tix are now closed. This is a smaller venue and we will have a lockdown if/when we get to capacity. If you bought a pre-sale ticket: Bring your confirmation # and your ID. You will have to purchase another ticket without this documentation. Really. Lodging: There are several lodging options in town. do your research: We recommend the Sangre De Cristo Inn. It is directly across from the venue, which is shuweet. If you're traveling with a group, there are lots of house/vacation rentals complete with kitchens, and other ammenities. Check the lists below...
Directions (from Denver): get on highway 285 heading south. in buena vista, you'll make a left turn by the prison which will continue you on 285 south. after villa grove, 285 and hwy. 17 will split. take a left then a right onto hwy 17 south. in moffat, once you past the post office on your right, take a left on to county road T. this road will take you directly into the town of crestone. it's hard to miss the venue. it's a big 2 story building directly across from the post office in crestone. Don't trust Mapquest! They will send you about 3 hours out of your way, truly!! Directions (from New Mexico): get on highway 285 heading north. in alamosa, make a right on main street at the stop light (conoco on right.) at the end of main st. there'll be a light, turn left, go over the bridge and turn left (north) on hwy. 17 (loaf n' jug on right.) take hwy 17 north to moffat (30 miles?) take a right on to county road T. this road will take you directly into the town of crestone. it's hard to miss the venue. it's a big 2 story building directly across from the post office in crestone.Don't trust Mapquest! They will send you about 3 hours out of your way, truly!! Weather: Crestone is at 8000 feet. It is December. Party hours: music begins at 8 pm. the party is being held at a public bar/restaurant/venue. all public activities will end by 2:30 a.m. Do the bar owners a favor and have a plan on where you'll be heading when they close the doors. they need to get home and sleep. After hours groove location will be announced at the event. Costumes: bring 'em, wear 'em, flaunt 'em, share 'em. Crestone ammenities, etc: natural foods and gas for your vehicles are available at the crestone general store. hours are 9-7 monday through saturday. gas is available 24/7 assuming the computer that runs it is working and gas isn't sold out, which does happen on occasion. As the new store opened yesterday, there is rumor that they will no longer be selling gas!! please roll into town with a full tank or at least enough to get you out of town to the next nearest station (35 miles south, 40 miles north!!) Groceries and hardware/ supplies are available at the Crestone Mart. hours are mon- sat 8-6, sunday 9-5. Spirits are available at the 21st ammendment liquor store. hours are around 12-8 Monday through Saturday. Please don't bring your own liquor to the venue. You will get booted, not fun. is known for it's many spiritual centers.
Heck, we've got 3 stupas, a Babaji Ashram,
several Tibetan temples, a Zen monastary,
a Carmalite Catholic monastary, A Japanese
Shumei center, etc. Also nearby is the
surreal Great Sand Dunes National Park,
and several Hot Springs. Come down a little
